FAQ

The Monday - Wednesday - Friday regular day sessions have a maximum class size of of 18 children.  The Tuesday - Thursday sessions are new for the 2024-2025 school year and have a maximum class size of 10 children.  Extended Day enrollment on Monday - Wednesday - Friday typically includes between 6 and 8 students.  

Sunny Hill closely follows  the school calendar of the Portland public schools.  Typically, our vacations and days off are the same.  We end our school year in early June.

(Optional) Extended Day

The Extended Day session is reserved for 4-year old children.  This time is used for more focused attention on preparing children for Kindergarten.  

For the 2025-2026 school year the rates are as follows.

The Tuesday - Thursday session from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.  is $1300 for the  school year.  

The Monday-Wednesday-Friday session from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. is $2000 for the school year.  

M-W-F families may add a Sunny Lunch period from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $2500 for the school year if the Sunny Lunch hour is added to the regular day.  Sunny Lunch can also be added on an ad hoc basis for $6.00 per day.  

M-W-F families of older children may enroll in Extended Day.  These children are in school from 9:00 to 1:30 p.m. on M-W-F.  The cost is $3100 for the school year for an Extended Day student.  

There are prepay discounts and discounts if siblings are enrolled.  There are also discounts for children of Zion Lutheran Church members.
